Pyramid Consulting, being a SAP systems management and administration company, naturally has implemented a Service Desk-type system for all ticket management with its clients, which originally ran with great effort in an on-premise environment at the company’s facilities. company; After identifying on numerous occasions that the performance, availability and stability of the system were being affected by the age of the server that hosted it, the growing number of clients that used the system and connectivity limitations, Pyramid Consulting made the decision to migrate your system to a Cloud environment.

Initially, a series of reviews of the Service Desk system were generated aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework, led by one of our Infrastructure Architects, where the best practices to be used in terms of security, reliability, system performance, operability were identified. and costs, thus arriving to incrementally build the finally defined architecture (See image 1), where AWS services such as an Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) instance were used in which the application was installed and a computing capacity was delivered. according to the R5 type family that commits an SLA of 99.99% availability, as well as Elastic Block Store (EBS) configuring storage of all system data using high-performance SSD disks with an SLA of 99.999 % of availability, in the same way to cover the security of the system, a complete parameterization of Public/Private Subnets, Route Tables, Secur ity Groups, user management through Identity and Access Management (IAM) and secure connections through VPN Site-to-site.

Data migration

Finally, the migration of the system from its current on-premise environment was required, for which CloudEndure was used, which is the AWS tool to migrate any type of workload to Amazon Web Services; This process was successful and exceeded expectations by bringing the information in record time.
